Gina Zagni with Caroline Reed

Gina Zagni (viola)

Gina Zagni began learning the violin age 4. She went to Wells Cathedral School, firstly as a violinist but soon changed to viola; she secured a place in the National Youth Orchestra aged 13, and stayed for 5 years. She later started learning the organ (on Wells Cathedral organ) later winning an organ scholarship to Cambridge University. She came out to Rome on leaving school and got a temporary position in L'Orchestra dell' Accademia Nazionale di St. Cecilia (Italy's national orchestra) in her 'gap' year. She enjoyed it so much that she decided to give up her place in Cambridge if she could get a permanent position - and stayed in Rome for 10 years. She then came back to the UK and was offered places in various orchestras but settled on the L.S.O and stayed with them for 17 years until shoulder problems forced her to retire. She then ran a Tea Rooms in Moretonhampstead before moving to Crete where she runs an Air B&B and works for an animal charity.

Caroline Reed (piano)

Caroline Reed studied (externally) with the London College of Music. She now lives in Farmborough with her family and enjoys teaching adults and children and accompanies candidates for music exams, as well as for services at All Saints Church. Previously she belonged to a travelling music group, performing for many charity events.
